The Greener Side

From pollutants to toxins and chemicals, we not only are becoming what we eat, but also what we wear, smell, and touch. Eating organic cuisine is one step in the right direction for your body, but your environment needs an eco-friendly upgrade, too (including the living room you are sitting in). Simple green remodeling will enhance your harmonious lifestyle. In A Greener Life: A Modern Country Compendium (F+W Publications, 2007), authors Clarissa Dickson Wright and Johnny Scott say that “living a greener life demands a certain amount of self-sacrifice,” but going green is easier than you think. Wright and Scott suggest making small changes, like turning off the central heating unless the temperature is below freezing to save fossil fuel, washing clothes in cool water, using energy saving light-bulbs, and being sure to turn off the lights when they aren’t in use.
